Hello Before Christmas

Hello all! Just thought I would say hello really quick along with sharing some of my 9 month pictures. Not much has happened since the last time I shared. I got to meet Santa Claus and I DO NOT like him very much. I think he is probably a really nice guy but I am a little uneasy about the idea of not being able to see his mouth under all of that hair. Anyway, mom got some pictures so she can cross that off her list of firsts. Speaking of firsts, I had spaghetti for the first time the other night and boy was that fun! I like it a lot, I hope mom makes it more often. Don't worry she got a picture of that too! I also went to my first birthday party yesterday for my friend Declan. He turns 1 on Tuesday and he had his party at the rec center. I loved the balloons, and the cake the most. Mom also signed me up for swimming lessons while she was there. What a multi-tasker that woman is! I can't wait for swimming lessons....with Aunt Kate. Mom says she does not want to get in a swim suit in front of all those people....whatever works for her I guess. I am sure she is doing it so she can stand outside of the pool and, yep you guessed it....take more pictures. It looks like we are supposed to be getting some bad weather this week for Christmas and I reallly, really hope my uncle Chris can fly in on Thursday. I know it will upset him a lot to not be with me on Christmas. We just might have to postpone Christmas for him. I get to go to Kansas on Sunday and stay for a few days with mom, Aunt Kate and Uncle Chris. My brother is also coming to stay with us for a week, I have not see him since July. I know he will have a blast playing with me, and let me tell you, I am really excited because mom and dad are not a whole lot of fun! Anyway, I must get going, but I hope you enjoy the pictures.

Told you I would update more....

I told you I would give you more frequent updates, so here it goes....I went to my first play last weekend and I did an amazing job. Those people were talking and singing to me and I thought it was so funny. It was an hour show and I was completely entertained for 55 minutes. I was getting hungry and tired by the end, but I hung in there. I then got to check out all of the cool things at the Amana Colonies. I had a great time cruising around in the front carrier. I got to spend some quality time with mom last week with all of the snow days. Nothing says fun like being stuck in the house with my mom for 2 days. I was sooo happy to get back to Aja's on Friday. I helped decorate the Christmas trees at Grandma's house yesterday and was a great big help! I love myself some Christmas tree ornaments. I got my 9 month pictures taken today as well as some family pictures and some with just me and daddy. I can't wait to see how they all turn out. The Doubletake Photography girls came to Grandma's house and we had a fun time. They are so silly that I love to smile at them. They sent me a couple so I will post them with this blog and when we get more I will post some of those too. They had to get the family ones to Mommy quick so she could get the Christmas cards ordered and mailed out. Nothing like waiting until the last minute mom!! I also got to go to a cookie exchange today and my friend Declan was there for me to play with. I got to eat cookies, get into things that I was not supposed to and listen to all of mommys friends ramble on and on about girl stuff. I am standing by myself now and trying really hard to take some steps. I get so excited that I am standing alone that it does not even bother me when I fall flat on my face....unless I am tired that is!! Grandma is not very happy about this big boy stuff and don't tell mom, but Grandma pushes me down when I try to walk, but don't worry, I get right back up. Ok, I need to go find mom and get my diaper changed, until next time......take care and happy Christmas shopping!!!

It's been a long time!

Hello everyone, have you missed me? I know it has been forever! I can never get my mom off Facebook long enough so that I can use the computer. I turned 9 months old since I have talked to you last! I went to the doctor and it was so exciting....no shots! Anyway, I am 19.5 pounds and 29 inches long. Tall and skinny...she says that every time! I had my first Thanksgiving last week and I traveled to Illinois to my great aunt Karen's house. I got to see some of my grandma's side of the family and I had a great time. I ate the most out of all the kids at the kid table. It was awesome! I then took at 2 1/2 hour nap...they say that is what you are supposed to do on Thanksgiving, right? I had some type of stomach bug over the holiday though and mom was not too excited about that. I will just say that this stomach bug caused me to take lots and lots of baths. I was beginning to think that every time I got my diaper changed I was going to have to take a bath. Jeez! I am over that now and eating like a hog! We put up the Christmas tree last weekend and it is so pretty. I wave bye-bye to it every night before I go to bed. I like it a lot. I would like it even more if they would let me get close to it! I guess that leads me to tell you everything that I can do since I know you like me to keep you posted on all of my milestones. I can wave bye-bye, I make lots of different sounds, I say Da-Da, but I don't know why yet, I say what my grandma thinks is kitty every time I see a cat, (my mom says it sounds more like I am clearing my throat), I can give 5 and I get so excited when I see my daddy and my grandpa. I am getting more and more daring on my feet, I am letting go more and more every day. My balance is improving every day! I hate being locked in baby jail all the time! Mom and dad have this stupid gate that keeps me in the living room and no matter what I am doing, when I hear it close, it makes me mad and I tell them about it! What is so wrong with leaving that thing open and letting me play with the dog dishes, climb up the stairs and try to pull down the Christmas tree? Let me have a little fun already, you know I am only a baby once! I am going to my first play this weekend, I get my 9 month pictures taken next weekend, I still need to go see Santa and then my 1st Christmas. So, there will be lots of things for me to tell you about in the upcoming weeks....if I can get the computer away from my mom that is. Everyone have fun finishing up your Christmas shopping and I promise there will be several more updates this month.

Time for an update

Hello everyone! I have been very busy these days walking around all of the furniture, banging on the cable box and dvd player, ripping books off the book shelf and clapping my hands. I loved Halloween and laughed each and every time I walked to the door. I dressed up as a lion and I hated my costume to tell you the truth. Don't tell my mom though because she thought it was so cute and took like 100 pictures of me. Sometimes, I swear she does not think about my feelings when she dresses me in stuff. Oh well, it is over now and I survived. I make lotes of new noises with my mouth and it is so much fun. I make noises all of the time, so there is never any peace and quiet in the house.....until I go to sleep anyway. Speaking of sleep, this daylight savings stuff has got me all messed up. I have been getting up at 6am every morning and hanging out with mom while she gets ready for work. I used to sleep until like 715, but now I am just so confused about what time it is. My mom said I am getting into the bad habit of waking up in the middle of the night wanting to eat again and I guess she does not like that, so last night we started the go to bed awake, and stay in bed until morning routine....again. I am sorry but sometimes I like to get up and see my beautiful mom and have a little something to eat in the middle of the night, don't you? Oh well, she will cave again in a few weeks when I start cutting another tooth or some other reason that makes her feel sorry for me. I guess I better be going but I wanted to say hello and get some pictures of Halloween posted.

Really quickly

I only have a few minutes, but I had better keep everyone up to date on my exciting life! I was sick last week for the first time ever. I had a temperature that kept crawling upward and I had a hard time sleeping. Mommy thought it might be my ears, so she had my awesome grandma take me to the dr. The dr. told Grandma that it was just a virus and to keep giving me that yummy tasting Tylenol. I got spoiled rotten by Grandma for 2 days and mommy for 1 day and I was all better. I turned into a terrible sleeper and eater while I was sick and I think my mom is going crazy with my terrible sleep habits. I think it is cool to get up every 2 hours at night, eat and go back to sleep. I hate baby food and with that I don't like rice cereal anymore either. Last night mom put her foot down and told me when she put me to bed that I was not getting up until morning....and she was not kidding! I cried from 1:30-2:25 when I finally wore myself out. Man, when she says she is going to do something, she isn't just a kidding. I think I will try again tonight and see if she caves. I overheard her telling Daddy that she couldn't take it anymore and at 2:00 was walking around outside in the rain. Poor mommy! I have been very interested in all foods except baby food lately and I like pretty much anything my mom lets me eat. I am not really a fan of bottles anymore, but my mom says I am just a little too young to give them up all together. Don't worry mom, when I turn 1 and you want to get rid of the bottles all together, I will decide that I can't live without them. I also have been pulling myself up on everything lately. I think I am pretty cool! When I get up to the couch, or the table, or the wall, I am not quite sure what I am doing there, but it sure is fun. And last but not least, I got my first shiner today. I was playing with the toys at Aja's this morning and I thought I would see what it felt like to hit myself in the face with it. Well, guess what, it hurt....it hurt really bad. Mom said she is proud of my mark, and even more proud of me for doing it at Aja's so she did not have to deal with how sad I was when it happened. Aja told me to do it at home next time because she felt really bad! Ok, I have walls to climb up, food to eat and animals to pick on. Have a wonderful rest of the week!

7 months already!

I heard my uncle Chris complaining that I never update my blog, so here we go. I am a big boy now, I am crawling all over the place. I started rocking on my knees 2 short weeks ago and my mommy said, "In 2 weeks that boy will be crawling". Well, guess what? I am crawling everywhere. Mommy and Daddy had to put up a gate, so now I am trapped in the living room. Don't worry though, because I can get into the office, the bathroom and I can push the door open and get onto the porch too. Nothing is safe anymore! I have started to eat some real food these days. I have been experimenting with cottage cheese, french fries, peaches, tater tot casserole, and anything else my mom can get cut up into really small pieces. I have liked everything so far! I love, love, love the tater tot casserole the best. I am my mother's child! I just got a new walker and it is really fun to roll around...backwards. I have not quite figured out how to make it go forward yet. It is a really cool Jeep and I love to pretend like I am driving with the steering wheel. I had another first this week too....that I am not too proud of. My girlfriend at daycare decided tat it would be fun to pinch me, and I have a nice red mark and bruise on my chest. My mom of course did not know what it was and was afraid it might be an allergic reaction or bug bite, so she marked me with a permanent marker to make sure it did not get bigger. So, my owie looks much worse because she can't get the marker off. I am not proud that the first time I got beat up it was by a girl, but she is not just any girl....she is a tough girl!! My uncle Chris is home this weekend so I will be spending all of my time with him...talk about getting spoiled. I think I might even see if he wants me to spend the night tomorrow night. Mommy could always use a break. She always seems to have more fun after a little break. The weather sure is getting cold outside! I had to put all of my shorts away and break out the long pants and long sleeves. It is a little chilly on my walk to Aja's in the morning! My mommy wraps me in a real warm blanket though, so it is all good. I might also say that my mom is getting faster and faster going up that hill every day, so by Winter, we will be to Aja's in 1 minute for sure! I think that is about all I have tonight. I will be cheering on the Hawks tomorrow with my mommy and then it will be off to Grandma's again to hang out with the best uncle in the world. Everyone stay warm and keep your fingers crossed that the temperature warms up!

Party Animal

I had an eventful Labor Day weekend! I went to the first annual FryFest in Coralville and rocked out to Jake Owen and Charlie Daniels. I love, love, loved the loud music and all of the people watching. I stayed up until 11:30 when we dropped Grandma and Grandpa off at home and slept like a rock until 6:15 Saturday morning when I was already strapped into my car seat and on my way to tailgate. Yes I said tailgate. Iowa Hawkeye fans don't learn how to party right unless they start young. I was decked out in my Hawkeye PJ's to start the day...which mind you was at like 5:45 am I have heard. After my breakfast and a few pictures later, I changed into my Hawkeye shirt, socks and shox. Yes, my mom is crazy and bought me Black and Yellow Nike Shox for tailgating. I guess I will have only her to blame some day when I am a crazy Iowa tailgater. I got to check out all of the people...wow!!!! All I can say is....WOW!!! There were so many people, so many crazy girls, and so many crazy outfits that I did not know what to do with myself. I partied all day and did NOT sleep. My mom even took me for 4 walks around town and there was just too much to see! I was a very good boy the entire day. I got to try out the famous "Big Ass Turkey Leg" and my dad even let me hold his beer. Those made for some good pictures too. I think tailgating and Iowa football is AWESOME! Did you hear about not 1 but 2 blocked punts at the end of the game? Crazy! I can't wait for the Iowa vs. Iowa State game this weekend. I think I will stay home and watch it on my tv. I don't know if my mom and dad can handle partying 2 weekends in a row. I had my first photo shoot a few weekends ago. People say I am photogenic. I think it is a real pain in my neck. Here is how the day went from my point of view....my mom sent me with my aunt Kate, we went to the park where we met some girl I don't know, they made me lay on the ground, sit on benches, look at the camera, look at the camera, look at the camera. Then, they loaded me up in the car, took me to a place I had never been before, changed my clothes and made me look at the camera, look at the camera, look at the camera. I don't know about you, but to me...that does not sound like a fun time. Well, because I don't have words to express my frustration, I cried and was crabby until they called my mom to save the day. She came and talked to me for awhile about how important it was for me to cooperate, laid me in the grass, almost let me fall off the front steps and once again, look at the camera, look at the camera, look at the camera. Finally after my mom doing every dorky thing possible to make me smile, I decided to give in and make them happy...so I smiled...a little anyway. Finally after that the day was over. WOW, I prefer tailgating thank you VERY much. I do not have the CD yet of all of the pictures from the shoot, but I am attaching 2. My mom and everyone else is going crazy over the one with my eyes closed. It is pretty cute if I do say so myself. Who knows, I might be famous some day...and you can say, you heard it here first. Well, it is getting to be about nap time and I know my mom will not be happy if I don't take my nap. Until next time....take care!!!!

I'm 6 months old now

Well, I made it to the 6 month mark! My mom can't believe it. She wants to know where her little baby went. I have been moving all over the place the last couple of weeks and I am wishing I could move more. I have my leg work figured out, but I have not quite figured out the upper body part. I have been working on the rug burn on my nose from planting my face into the carpet as I move. I am everywhere, except the blanket where mom wants me to be. I had my doctors appointment this past week and I am 16 lbs, 27.5 inches. I got an A+ in everything but sleeping. The doctor told mommy that I need to learn how to fall asleep by myself. Sooo....Friday night I started trying. I actually am doing pretty well. Friday night it only took about 20 minutes and I slept all night. Last night I fell asleep at the street dance so I didn't get to work on it. For my nap today mommy made me try and it took about 10 minutes. Mommy told my babysitter to work on it with me too, so I will be a pro in no time. The whole reason behind this is that I wake up too many times during the night and I need to learn how to put myself back to sleep. Fine! You say you want your baby back, yet you are making me learn big boy things. I DON'T GET IT! I love going to Aja's during the day...she is my new girlfriend! There is so much going on and I love watching the other kids all day. I am now holding my own bottle and eating as many things as my mom will let me. My favorite right now is yogurt....yummy! I had my 6 month pictures taken yesyerday. I did pretty well but decided to become uncooperative and they had to call my mommy to come help. I sure did look cute though. My aunt Kate has an awesome friend who has lots and lots of patience and takes awesome pictures. She better beware, we are calling her every time we need pictures. She is getting us a cd soon, so check back for some new pics. I still love the tv, but have not had as much time to watch my program lately. I am actually watching racing right now. Fast cars, wow! I think that is about all for now.

A much needed update on the amazing...me!

I have not posted a blog in a very long time, I apologize! Where has Summer gone? Oh wait, did Summer just start this weekend? I am so confused! Anyway, I am almost 6 months old and my mom can't even believe it! I finally learned how to roll over from my stomach to my back last week, but just on my left side. Everyone keeps calling me a slow learner but they will be sorry when I figure out how to get around. I can hear them now....."Remember when he used to just lay on the floor and kick his legs? Can't we have those times back". Well, just you wait, soon enough I will be all over the place. I have NOT been sleeping very well at night...I can't decide if it is because I am hungry, or if I just miss my mom so much that I can't go more than 4 hours without seeing her. She keeps telling me that this behavior is unacceptable and I had better get things back to normal before she goes back to work in 1 week. Speaking of mommy going to work, I can't wait! I get to go to Aja's and I am so excited. Not only do I get to hang out and watch other kids all day, but I get to get some loving from someone other than my mom. Don't get me wrong, I love my mom, but she gets boring after a while. I went on my first vacation a couple of weeks ago to Chicago. I had a great time checking everything out! I really liked the fireworks at Navy Pier and the Cirque show. I got to spend lots of time with my uncle Chris and he even made me a Build a Bear. I was a good boy and did not cause any major problems. I am really starting to notice my dog Dallas lately and every time he moves, shakes or scratches himself I think it is hilarious! My dad brought my high chair upstairs this weekend and I love it. It is so much fun to sit in it while mom cooks and cleans the kitchen and bang my toys on the tray and throw them on the floor and watch her pick them up. I also think it is pretty cool to eat in it too. I am still totally addicted to the TV. Mom says hopefully going to Aja's will help to cure me of this addiction because there will be other kids to focus my attention on instead of the tv. I guess I have to have something in common with my dad right? Well, I have 4 cousins and 2 neighbor kids coming over today so I had better get a nap in before the excitement begins. Hello everyone! My uncle Chris was getting anxious for a new blog, so here it is! I have been enjoying my summer with my mom....maybe a little too much, I am really turning into a momma's boy. I don't like it when other people try to feed me, put me to sleep and sometimes even look at me. My mom is the coolest...like I needed to tell you that? I am sure you already knew. I miss my daddy during the day, he works A LOT!!! When my dad gets home, I get really excited and smile and laugh at him for the first 15 minutes that he is home. Mom does all the work during the day and dad gets all the smiles. I have been trying new foods lately, like applesauce, squash and carrots. I love them all!!!! Mom said I am going to start eating 2 times a day in the next week or so, which is fine with me...I love me some food!!! I have a Clippers game to go to tonight...Go Clippers, they are undefeated you know! If they win tonight, they play again on Wednesday and then they are off to state. I had thought about convincing mom to take me to the final state game if they went all the way, but she said we are going to be in Chicago. Speaking of Chicago, I am going on my first vacation July 24-26. I am soooo excited! I can't decide if I am more excited to see Uncle Chris and Alicia, or to check out the town! I hear there are some pretty cool things planned. I have been shopping for new clothes....imagine that!! Like it takes a vacation to get new clothes? PLEASE!!! For the record...mom went shopping the last 2 days and I got nothing. Let me repeat that....I got nothing. I guess it was time for dad, Lindsey and mom to get some new stuff for a change. My brother Chuckie went home on Saturday and I miss him already. I really like him and I am sad that I do not get to see him again until Christmas! My mom says that I should be rolling over by now, but I am not really interested. She told me yesterday that I don't get to go to Chicago until I can roll over. She is making me spend 2- 1o minute sessions on my tummy a day. Funny thing is....if I cry for 5 of those 10 minutes, she picks me up because she can't handle listening to me cry. Why do I need to roll over anyway? I am more interested in crawling and spend those 10 minutes scooting my way off of the blanket. Let's think practical here....rolling over or crawling? Which one of those is going to get me further in life? That is what I thought!!! Well, I suppose I had better get a power nap in before the game so I can cheer on my girlfriends!!!

4 months

I turn 4 months old this week! I had my check up yesterday and I am weighing in at 13lbs 2oz and I am 25 1/4 inches long. The doctor says I am making progress at a great rate. I hated those shots the nurse gave me and it made me crabby pretty much the rest of the day. I am eating cereal and veggies now and I love them. Bring on the sippy cup, I am so done being a baby. I have been trying to roll over lately, but to tell you the truth, it is not at the top of my list. I hate being on my stomach, so why would I roll over and end up there. As far as tummy time goes, my mom makes me do it at least once a day, but when I get mad, she rolls me back over. I have been sleeping in my crib for about a week and it is great. I have so much room to move around! I wake up in a totally different place than when I started. I have been sleeping on my tummy because mom says I sleep much longer. I went to bed at 7:30 last night because I was really full from my cereal and sweet potatoes and mom gave me some tylenol. I was well rested and up ready to play at 4:30. Mom however was not ready for that and could not keep her eyes open. I went upstairs and laid in bed with dad and told him all about life for 45 minutes. I talked so much, mom looked over and I was sound asleep. Mom said she thought that was so cute. I am quite the talker these days, I lay on the floor and talk and talk for 20-30 minutes at a time. I guess I am my mother's son. I am also addicted to tv, my father's son in me there. I love SpongeBob and Baby Einstein videos. I also like the watch video's of myself, I think that is the funniest thing!!! Well, I think I am going to help mom water the flowers and then take a dip in the pool! Have a great week!

Update

I know it has been a long time since I have given an update, I am sorry! My mom is officially on Summer break now and she she is loving being home with me. I am sad that I don't get to hang out with Grandma everyday, but mom is second best. Mom says I am so much happier during the day, so she is happy that she gets to spend time with me during the day now. I am sleeping through the night now and everyone around here is very happy. I get up about 5:30, eat, daddy goes to work and mommy and I go back to sleep until 9. My mom told me this is the way she likes to do it in the summer, so I guess I better do what she says. I have been going on lots of walks with mommy and Dallas gets to go sometimes too. We run over his feet with the stroller a lot, but mom says he will learn eventually, so I am going with it. My brother and sister are here for the summer and my brother thinks I am pretty cool. My sister is not so sure, but she talks to me sometimes. My brother brought his Rock Band game and I love sitting downstairs listening to mommy and my brother jam out to AC/DC. My swimming pool has a leak and mommy can't find it. I hope she gets it fixed pretty soon, because not only am I excited to go swimming, but I am sick and tired of listening to her complain about it. I guess she has some kind of addiction to the sun....whatever makes her happy I guess. Mommy is also watching some neighbor kids this summer and the girl Addie helps with me a lot. She has a brother that is just a little older than me, so she knows what to do to make me happy. Mommy is very thankful for her! I have been taking in a lot of little league games and CCA Softball games. Go Clippers! Last night grandma and grandpa even came to the game. It was a close one, but they won in the 7th inning! I love watching all the people and mommy says I better be learning early because she can't wait to watch me some day! Well, I think that is about it for now. I have my 4 month appointment on the 22nd, so I will give more updates then. I hope everyone has a great summer and gets to go out and enjoy the nice weather as much as I do!

Thought I'd give you an update....

I have been a very happy baby the last couple of weeks....when I'm not tired that is. I laugh and talk a lot these days. I am trying really hard to tell stories, but I can't quite get the words out! I am getting excited for summer and swimming in my pool. Good thing mommy bought a heater, or I would not be able to swim until August! Thank you Aja!!!!! My half brother and sister are coming to stay for the summer and I am excited to meet them. Some of my favorite things right now are rattles, my vibrating seat, walks on bumpy roads and of course Grandma!! I might have withdraws when mommy gets done with school and I don't get to spend all day Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday with her. I have been trying really hard to pull myself up when I am laying down and mom always says, "Where are you going? Lay back down!". I am just working those ab muscles, don't worry about me!!! I have not been sleeping very well at night because I have a tummy ache sometimes and can't get comfortable. I am fine as long as mom is holding me, I just wake up with some pains, but go right back to sleep. I don't think mommy's favorite place to sleep is in the rocking chair in my room though! Well, that is about all for now. I have a graduation party to get to! Have a great week everyone!

10 weeks old I am....and I sure am a cutie pie!!!

Update from me...the big 2 month old!!!!

I had my 2 month check this week and I am weighing in at 9 lbs 14 oz and I am 23 1/4 in. long. I have gained 3 pounds and grown 3 inches in 2 months. I have been a much happier baby lately, I think the world is pretty cool to sit back and watch. I love, love, love ceiling fans and I like to stare at lights. I really like that the weather is getting nicer and I get to spend more time outside and taking walks. I see that there is a swimming pool out the back door, wow, I can't wait to get in there. I love water and I love the the sun, so what is there not to love about spending time in the pool this summer?! I need to remind my mom to get me some sun block, I know how she is about sun block, it is not in her vocabulary. I am sure she will have me trained to put my own sunblock on before the end of the summer. I went to a babysitter for the first time this week and I had a great time. I did a nice job of sleeping for a couple hours so that Aja could actually spend some time with the other kids! She said I was kind of fussy while she was trying to fix the other kids lunch, but as far as I know the world revolves around me, so why on earth should I have to wait. I survived and my mom says it was a lesson I have to learn!!! I have been sleeping for long periods of time at night this week too. Tuesday night I slept for 6 hours straight and last night I slept for 7 hours. Aunt Kate put me to sleep at 8:00 and I did not wake up until 3. My mom says she has not felt this well rested for 2 months. She also said she is having a hard time sleeping for that long at a time because I have her so trained to get up every 3-4 hours. She also told me that she can adjust, no problem!!! I am smiling a lot more now, as you can see in the pictures that were posted the other day it sure is funny when my mom talks like a dork to me, I have not other choice but to laugh at her!!!! Well, I am not sure if I have much more to talk about, and I am going to try really hard to blog more often. I need to spend less time staring at ceiling fans and more time sharing with you all what I have been up to!!!!
