1 month old

I turned 1 month yesterday, boy did that go fast!!!! I was a very good boy and slept for 5 hours last night with no interruptions! Mommy gave me lots of kisses about that. I went to the doctor today and I weigh 7 pounds 5 ounces. The doctor said I am growing at an appropriate rate, but not on the fast track that is for sure. She called me petite....mom did not really take a liking to that label, so look out, she is going to make me eat all the time to gain more weight. She said there are no football stars that are labeled petite. Grandma does not agree, she wants me to be little forever! I went to my friend Declan's house yesterday, we took a nap together, ate together and the I cried while Declan laughed at me. Someday he will pay! I also went to a candle party at mommy's friend Katie's house and everyone went crazy over my cuteness! Mommy was happy grandma was there to take over! Mommy says I have been a lot of work the last couple of days and she can't wait until I can smile at her so all her hard work seems to have benefits. She always tells me she loves me, but she just does not understand why I have to cry all the time and why every time she starts to do something, I wake up and want to eat. She says all I ever want to do is eat! Well, I am trying to gain weight!!! Figure out what you want mom!! Do you want a football star or the laundry folded?? Mommy is going out with her friends for awhile tonight, it will be th first time daddy has been alone with me! Mommy is a little nervous, but I am not. I know what to do; eat, cry, stress my dad out and then fall asleep just as soon as he calls mommy to come home. Just kidding, I am going to try my hardest to be a good boy so mommy can go out and have a good time, she deserves it, I am hard work!!! Well, speaking of eating, I better get to it, I have company coming at 1 and again at 4. Bet you wish you were as popular as me!!! Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you, when we got home from the doctor today, we found dirty diapers, a banana stem and a present strung out all over the living room floor. I think Dallas ate at least 10 diapers, and 1 banana. He did however leave a few for mom to clean up. He is nasty!!!!!! I told my mom to call the vet to make sure he will be ok, but she told me that he is just a junk yard dog and besides, he topped it off with a banana and that is healthy right? Spring Break

Happy Spring everyone. I spent my Spring Break hanging out at my grandma and grandpa's house with my uncle Chris, his friend Alicia, my Aunt Kate and of course Grandma. My uncle Chris loves me so much and I am sad he had to go back to Kansas. I really like his friend Alicia...way to go uncle Chris. You will have to give me some pointers in a few years. I went out to eat at Red's Alehouse and Gus's last week....I slept the whole time, so I really can't tell you if they were good places to eat. My dad says he likes the hamburgers at Red's, but mom says she likes Gus's better. I had a few visitor's last week as well, but things are starting to slow down and mom is getting more sleep during the day while I am taking my naps. Grandma and Grandpa came over last night to babysit me so mommy and daddy could go out on a date. I was screaming when they left but stopped as soon as they pulled out of the driveway. Do I know how to make Mom feel guilty or what? I am growing like a weed these days, I am officially too long for my newborn clothes and have started to wear my 0-3 month clothes. All my mom talks about is how she wants me to fit into those clothes because I have 2 dresser drawers full of that size. I know what that means....more pictures. I don't mind pictures too much, but that darn flash is too bright for my eyes and I hate it. I have been spending more and more time awake during the day just looking around. Mommy says she thinks that I can see further and further every day because I really seem to be checking things out more than before. I turn 1 month on Thursday, wow time sure does fly when you are as busy as me!!!! Speaking of busy, I better go spend some quality time with my dad before he goes to bed since I was gone at the mall and Grandma and Grandpa's all afternoon. Have a great week everyone!!!!

Happy St. Patricks Day everyone!

Sorry I have not posted a blog for a few days, but I have been really busy. My uncle is in town and so I have been hanging out with him. I also have been busy going out to eat, sleeping and crying.

2 weeks old

I am 2 weeks old today! Mommy and Daddy took me to Texas Roadhouse to celebrate......I slept the whole time! I have this problem though and I don't know what to do......I keep peeing all over the place and it really makes my mom mad! I hate getting my clothes changed and every time I pee my mom changes my dang clothes! I am going to try and stop doing this, but I just don't know how! I went to visit mommy's school again today and I was awake the whole 1 1/2 hours. Everyone was crowding around me and telling me how cute I was. These people are starting to give me a big head! I am starting to look more and more like my dad every day! Mommy says it is a good thing she thinks daddy is cute! I have to go to my 2nd doctor's appointment tomorrow....I hope I have gained some weight and I hope I don't have to get any shots. Well, I don't have much else to say and I am getting tired, so until next time.....everyone take care and have a wonderful Friday the 13th!

I've been so busy....

I feel like I have not blogged in forever....or maybe it is that I have done so much since I have last blogged. I got a swing on Sunday and I really like it! It is fun to hang out and watch everything going on around me. It has turtles on it and that is my nickname, so mommy is so proud of herself that she found it. I took my first trip to Grandma's on Monday and was a very good boy. I also started peeing when I am getting my diaper changed. Monday my mom had to change my outfit 4 times. I hate getting my diaper changed and I thought mom would get the hint because I cry every time, but since she still has not stopped, I thought I would start peeing on her. Today I was getting my diaper changed and just when she thought she was successful, I peed, only this time I peed all over my head. Gross!!!! Of course I had on a really cute outfit and had just had a bath a couple hours before that. Note to self....don't pee in that direction again. I visited Grandpa at the bank today and everyone told him I was so cute. I also visited Aunt Kate at school. I went to the BD room and hung out with some cool teachers and an annoying kid. He kept talking and would not stop. I had to get out of there before I got a headache. Mommy and Grandma took me shopping in Williamsburg yesterday too and they went a little crazy with the clothing purchases. I must admit, I am going to be the best dressed kid on the block! Mommy says I just need to grow a little more so I can fit into the 0-3 month clothes because right now all I fit in is the newborn stuff and she does not have a whole lot of that. I can't wait to sport all of my summer clothes. I am going to have all the chicks knocking on my door! I have been very, very kind to my mom and dad at night with my sleeping. I have been sleeping for the most part from 1-4:30 every night and that makes them very happy. I stay awake after that for like 2 hours and that way I get to hang out with dad before he goes to work. Someone told me that I had better be a boy that keeps a schedule if I want to be on my moms good side, so I thought I better start early. Well, I think those are all of the events of the last few days.....now you can see why I sleep so well. I have yet to spend a day at home with nothing to do. I don't think that is my moms style though, so I better get used to it. Well, time to take a nap until it is time to eat again. Have a good night!

The weekend

Mommy and Daddy had their first outing without me this weekend so they could go to Slims Winterfest and my aunt Kate babysat. I had my first bottle and could have cared less. As long as it is food, I am fair game. Kate was sad because mom and dad were gone for less than 2 hours and I woke up from my nap 4 minutes before they got home. Grandma and Grandpa came over and hung out with me last night too. I have been spending more and more time awake these days and really like checking out everything around me. I tried to stay awake for the KU game but that is too long for a guy like me to keep my eyes open. I got to see Uncle Chris on the tv at the game. My mom told me that Chris is going to try and come home next weekend to see me. He thinks I am pretty much a stud and can't wait any longer to see me. I think he likes me because everyone says I look like him. He is convinced that I am going to grow up and be a stud like him......mom laughs about that! I had some hard times falling asleep last night and tested my daddy's patience. He told mommy that he tried everything to get me to stop crying and nothing worked. Mommy was in bed with the door closed, so she had no idea I was being such a stinker. Daddy took me up to mommy about 1:30, I ate and slept until 7:30. Mommy does not know what the big deal is. I just like to give my daddy a hard time. I stayed awake for almost 3 hours this morning after my long sleep last night and watched mommy clean the house. Mommy's friend from Dubuque is coming over today to see me, but I don't know if I will be able to stay awake very long because it really wears me out when I stay awake for such long periods of time. Tomorrow I am going to grandma's for the first time and I am going shopping in Williamsburg. I also am going to try and get to the bank and open my savings account. Mommy says if I want to go to college, I had better start saving now! Well, I think it is about time to eat! Have a wonderful week!

My Poor Daddy

Well, I got to hang out in the emergency room with my daddy last night who thought his appendix was bursting or he was passing a kidney stone, but after 3 hours....they found nothing. I slept the whole time and did not wake up until we were almost home. Mommy and Daddy were so proud of me. I slept really well last night and until 11 this morning. My mom figured out that I need to either be in my Boppy pillow or in my car seat and I sleep like a rock. I hate sleeping on my back in the bed because it does not feel like anyone is holding me. They can trick me into thinking I am being held with my Boppy or my car seat.
I took my first trip to mommy's school yesterday. Everyone told me how cute I was and mommy had to tell her labor story over and over again. I am getting sick of hearing about it.....but don't tell her, she is pretty proud of herself and I don't want to upset her. I am spending more and more time awake these days and I just love to look around at everything around me.
I went for a walk with mommy and aunt Steph this afternoon. The walk was so soothing that I fell asleep until they hooked my dog Dallas to the stroller and he decided to take off and jerked me awake. I guess they decided after that that maybe it was not such a god idea. I wonder if any of the neighbors were watching....I hope not for mommy's sake. Well, I am getting sleepy and I better get some rest before my company comes tonight. Have a wonderful weekend!!!!

1 week old today

Today I am 1 week old. I had a great night last night! I slept pretty well and when I was not sleeping I was eating, but I was not crying. I lost my umbilical cord last night when grandma was changing my first blow out. It was some crazy stuff going on all at once. I spent lots of time awake today just looking around and taking in everything around me. I watched the 3rd graders play football for awhile this morning.....I can't wait until that is me. My daddy is teaching me football plays already....along with poker moves and everything there is to know about Nascar. I especially like when he sings to me.....Dallas looks at him funny and mom goes to the other room, but I think Daddy is the next American Idol. As a matter of fact, daddy and I are dancing around the living room to some country music right now while I exercise my lungs. Mommy told him to keep me awake as long as possible so I will sleep later. Grandma spent her last day here today helping mommy but she has to go back to work tomorrow so she had to go home. Mommy is a little nervous to go at it alone tomorrow, but I hear the weather is going to be nice and she said we are going to take our first walk in the stroller and maybe even stop at school and see mommy's friends. I think that is all of the excitement for the day, I am getting tired of crying so I think maybe I will try and fall asleep until I get hungry again. Good Night!!!! -Blayke

All Nighter

I almost succeeded in pulling an all nighter last night. My mom was so proud of me.....NOT! I had another stomach ache and I just could not get comfortable. Mom decided to forget about that stupid formula supplement they told me to have when I left the hospital. My tummy does not like formula!!!!! I had my first doctor's appointment today and I passed with flying colors. I weighed in at 7lbs 7oz and 20 1/4 inches long. I have gained 2.5 ounces since I left the hospital. I did not really like the doctor because they made me take off all of my clothes and lay on the table and it was cold in there and they made me stretch out my legs. I hate stretching out my legs. When I got done with the doctor I went to sleep and missed out on my first shopping trip. Mommy and Daddy took me to Kohls and Walmart. I was so comfy and cozy in my car seat that I slept like a rock and missed the whole event. When we got home mommy and I took long naps and we feel great now. I am trying to decide if I am going to sleep well tonight for mommy or if I am going to give her a run for her money again. I will leave you guessing and I will let you know tomorrow. I decided that since I slept all day yesterday that it would be a fun thing to stay up all night. Mom and grandma stayed up with me until 2:30. Grandma went to bed and mom stayed up with me until 3:30. At 3:30 dad took over and he and I hung out until we woke mom up again at 6:30 because I was hungry yet again. Good thing grandma is here, otherwise mom and dad might not have smiles on their faces anymore. I took my first bath today and I hated every minute if it. Mom attempted to keep me warm by having a blanket around me, but this was clearly her first bath as well......she needs some practice!!!! I survived being cold and cried until she had me completely dressed. I had to take a really long nap after all that work! Mommy's friends Tracy, Libra and Katie stopped over today to hang out and play pass the baby! My friend Declan came too, but I was too tired from my long night and cold bath that I could not play today. I had my first crying fit tonight that lasted for about 30 minutes. Finally mom fed me and I fell asleep. I think I had a stomach ache from these Vitamin drops mom thinks I need. Tomorrow I have my first doctor's appointment and then mommy and daddy are taking me on my first shopping trip to Kohls. Dad says there are a lot of clothes 60% off and he is just itching to go buy me some clothes now that I have finally arrived. Good night you all!!!!

Homecoming

Well.....I came home today and I have been sleeping pretty much the whole time. I slept all the way home in the car and for about 20 minutes after I got home until I was hungry. All I have done for the last 2 days is eat, sleep and poop. My mom is being a good sport, but I do hear her complaining about how much pain she is in and how 3 hours goes by so dang fast. I have overheard her saying, "Is it really time to eat again already, I am still hurting from last time!!" I lost about 10oz but now that I am eating well. They say I will put it back on in no time. My grandma, grandpa and aunts came over for dinner and I slept pretty much the whole time. My grandma is going to stay the night just in case mommy needs some help in the middle of the night. Mommy says she is feeling bad that dad has not gotten much sleep so she wants him to be able to sleep all night without us bothering him with our multiple feedings. I love my bedroom!!! My grandma and Aunt Stephanie did a great job on it. Well, not much else to share, when you sleep all day you don't have much to talk about. Maybe I will be awake more tomorrow!!! Have a great week!
